Demineralized Water Plant (DM)

A demineralizer is a system, which uses ion conversation biochemical process to eliminate melted ionic mixtures from water. It is also known as Deionized Water System, Demineralizer or DM Plant. A characteristic Demineralization Plant (DM Plant) consists of two containers. The feed water or raw water is passed through first container i.e. containing strong base cation resin in the form of Hydrogen (H+), whereupon all the positively charged ions (sodium, calcium, iron and copper etc.) are exchanged for Hydrogen ions; after that, the water additional passed through another vessel containing strong base anion resin in the form of Hyudroxyl (OH-), whereupon all the negatively charged ions (chloride, sulphate, nitrate, etc) are replaced for hydroxide ions which then combine with the hydrogen ions to form water.

Iron Removal Systems/Filter

Iron removal plants can be based on different clarification media, contingent on the iron and manganese concentration, the oxygen level, CO2 content and hardness of the water.

Plant principle: First, air is injected in order to rust the iron. The oxidized iron will then precipitate on a sand filter. An MnO2 layer in the sand bed will catalyze the oxidation of remaining iron. Backwash will be done by water and by air.

Ozonation

Ozone has a greater smoking effectiveness against bacteria and viruses linked to chlorination. In addition, the oxidizing properties can also reduce the concentration of iron, manganese, sulfur and reduce or eliminate taste and odor problems. Ozone oxides the iron, manganese, and sulfur in the water to form insoluble metal oxides or elemental sulfur. These insoluble particles are then removed by post-filtration. Organic particles and chemicals will be eliminated through either coagulation or chemical oxidation. Ozone is unstable, and it will degrade over a time border ranging from a few seconds to 30 minutes. The rate of squalor is a function of water chemistry, pH and water temperature.

EDI

EDI Series Electrodeionization Water Purification Systems are intended to polish the permeate from a reverse osmosis system. The quality of the product from EDI system will depend on the incoming feed water quality to the electrodeionization system. Product quality up to 18 megaohms is possible with these systems. The EDI System is superior to a straight mixed-bed deionization system both in ease of operation and maintenance. In addition, no chemicals are used for regeneration. The EDI Systems are modular, so they can be designed for various capacities and easily expanded when required.EDI Systems are used in applications such as ultrapure water, USP grade water, water for injectables (WFI), and removing trace quantities of contaminants.
