Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)

EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANTS (ETP)

Effluent Treatment Plant (Industrial wastewater treatment) covers the mechanisms and methods used to treat wastewater that is produced as a by-product of industrial or commercial activities. After treatment, the treated industrial wastewater (or effluent) may be reused or released to a sanitary drain or to a surface water in the environment. Most industries produce some waste water while recent trends in the developed world have been to decreased production or recycle wastewater within the production process. However, many industries remain dependent on processes that produce waste water Effluent Treatment Plant is a process used to convert waste water – which is water no longer required or suitable for its most recent use – into an effluent that can be either returned to the water cycle with minimal environmental issues or reused. The latter is called water salvage and implies avoidance of disposal by use of treated wastewater effluent for various purposes. Treatment means removing impurities from water being treated; and some methods of treatment are applicable to both water and wastewater.
